Diversity of Treatment. Many people consider Osteopaths to be 'backmen', although this is not the case, we do relieve many back aches and pains and this is something we Osteopaths are particularly good at. However, we are trained to deal with the bodily systems, enabling us to make a precise diagnosis. The manipulative techniques which we apply are well documented and where appropriate extremely successful. Cranial Osteopathy is also a valued technique, which where appropriate, is highly successful and is a method of enabling a self healing process with results which can be beyond patient's expectations.
Sports Injuries
These are frequently seen in my practice with many horse riders and athletes of varying disciplines, some of whom are professionals.
I taught Anatomy and Physiology running a Sports Therapy clinic at a local college, therefore I am familiar with these types of injuries and strains.
Babies
Babies are amazing to treat, because often their problems have not been present long and therefore, respond very quickly to treatment.
A babies problems and discomfort can originate from birth, or from the first few weeks of life.
Classic symptoms and signs of a troubled baby:-
1. Can't be consoled when crying excessively.
2. Doesn't like lying on its back.
3. Rubs away a patch of hair on back of head.
4. Failure to latch onto bottle or breast properly.
Children
As baby grows older new problems may arise, such as Sticky Eye, Glue Ear, Constantly being Snuffly, being Excessively Irritable, or have a loathing of loud sound.
I also treat children today with 'Attention Deficit Disorder'. This impacts on both their home, social and academic life.
